Good Health Fortified Rice
R.S Color Sorter & RS Foods, one of the first few rice millers who is associated from the beginning of the Scaling-up Rice Fortification Initiative, has started to sell fortified rice under its own brand name in the market. It has named its brand as “Good Health” and designed a 5kg packet for retail sell. R.S Color Sorter is procuring rice premix kernels from Abdul Monem Ltd (AML) and blending them with non-fortified Miniket rice in their own facility in Sirajganj. The packaging is done in one of their other facility.
Success
At the beginning of 2014, R.S Color Sorter started blending operation of 124 MT fortified rice for Sirajganj Sadar and Sirajganj Kazipur Upazila. Next year, two more new upazila: Siraganj Belkuchi and Sirajganj Chowhali were added. At present, 524 MT of fortified rice is being blended for 7 Upazilas of Sirajganj and Gazipur district. In the meantime, we have successfully blended and delivered about 33,226.59 MT of fortified rice to the GOVT,WFP and private sectors gov listed Union Parishads by the collaboration with WFP and GOB.

Overview
R.S Color Sorter and R.S Foods are newly reformed rice company. It has started his operation from 2013 adding a rice color sorter. Moreover for 10 years semi auto rice mill has success in rice industry that is inherited from the father encouraged to add the rice color sorter machine imported from China. Since 2014, R.S Color Sorter has been working as an implementing partner of UN WFP and People’s Republic of Bangladesh for the pilot initiative of rice fortification. By the concern of UN WFP R.S Color sorter established a Blending facility and continuously blending the rice for UN WFP, People’s Republic of Bangladesh and private sectors.
